SHIPPING & TERMS
Shipping in New Zealand
All orders are shipped via GoSweetSpot. I aim to dispatch within 3 working days of your order being placed. Parcels typically arrive within 5 working days from the date of dispatch.
If your parcel arrives damaged, please keep all packaging and get in touch with me as soon as possible so I can help resolve the issue.
International Shipping
At this time, I offer international shipping to Australia only, using GoSweetSpot. Orders are dispatched within 3 working days, and delivery typically takes up to 2 weeks—please allow for potential delays.
If you're based outside of New Zealand or Australia and would like to place an order, feel free to get in touch to discuss shipping options.
Refunds or exchanges
Each piece is made with care, and I hope you love your order. As a small business, everything is handmade in small batches; therefore, all sales are final. I’m unable to offer refunds or exchanges.
However, if your item arrives damaged, please reach out—I'm more than happy to organise a replacement. You’ll find all the details in the Damaged upon delivery section.
Damaged upon delivery
In the unlikely event that your pottery arrives damaged, you're eligible for a replacement. To help me resolve the issue, please follow the steps below:
-
Contact me at clayandball@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery to report the damage.
-
Include clear photos of the broken item and the original packaging, making sure all shipping labels are visible.
These images help me understand what may have happened during transit and are essential for processing your replacement.
Once I’ve received your email and the required images, I’ll be in touch to arrange a replacement at no extra cost.
Please note that if the item is not currently in stock, there may be a delay while I remake it with care.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer a replacement without photographic evidence, so please be sure to include all necessary details when you get in touch.
Caring for your pottery
You will receive a care card with your new pieces detailing the best way to care for your pottery so that you have a handy reminder nearby.
Your pottery is designed to be dishwasher safe.
That said, dishwashers and their detergents can be quite harsh, so whenever possible, I recommend hand washing. This gentler approach helps preserve the glaze and keeps your pieces looking beautiful for longer.
All pieces are finished with a satin matte glaze, which means cutlery marks may develop over time—especially on lighter-colored glazes. These marks naturally soften and blend into a beautiful, subtle patina with use. Please keep this in mind when making your purchase.
Your pottery is not suitable for use in the oven, and I strongly recommend avoiding the microwave.
Rapid changes between hot and cold temperatures can cause thermal shock, which may lead to cracking. If this happens, please stop using the piece right away and dispose of it safely, as it will no longer be structurally sound.
Ceramics are naturally breakable, and with everyday use, cracks and chips can happen more easily. Unfortunately, there’s very little that can be done to fully repair chips or mend breaks if they occur.
I also strongly advise exercising extreme caution with any pieces that have developed cracks but remain intact, as this can significantly weaken their structural integrity and make them unsafe to use.
Sustainability
Caring for the environment is an important part of how I run my business—and I know it matters to many of you too.
All Clay and Ball orders are packed using fully recyclable or compostable materials. Your pottery arrives in a cardboard box sealed with recyclable paper tape, cushioned in recyclable paper bubble wrap, and nestled in biodegradable honeycomb wrapping. Each parcel includes a recyclable thank you note and care card, and to reduce waste, invoices are emailed rather than printed.
Every piece is carefully cleaned before packing, but I recommend giving your ceramics a gentle hand wash before their first use, just to remove any packing dust.
I love seeing where my work ends up—if you'd like to share, snap a photo and tag me on Instagram @clayandballpottery
It means the world to see your pieces being enjoyed in their new homes.
