🔥 Important Firing InfoYour painted mug needs to be glaze fired in a kiln to Cone 6 (1220°C) — it cannot be cured in a home oven like some craft kits. This firing is what makes your piece food-safe, wash-ready and truly finished.
Once you’ve painted your mug, here are your options to fire it:
Bring it back to me and I’ll fire it for you, or take it to your nearest potter or ceramic studio and ask for a glaze fire to Cone 6 (1220°C).
This part is essential — your mug won’t be complete until it’s properly fired! 🔥

How to Paint Your Own MugI
t’s simple—and a lot of fun!
- Apply 2–3 thin layers of your chosen underglaze in any pattern you like.
- If the underglaze feels thicker than cream, add a small splash of water to make it easier to apply.- If your design begins to crack, it’s likely too thick. Simply wipe it off with a damp sponge or cloth and start again—cracks will remain even after firing.
- Once you’re happy with your design, apply 2 coats of clear glaze.Take your piece to a studio for kiln firing. Pack it carefully and handle with care during transport, as the glaze can chip and the unfired mug is still fragile.
